Summary Statement of Faith

Ballingham Chapel is a member of Churches Together in Hereford.

We are in agreement with the Basis of Faith as stated by the Evangelical Alliance, which you can read here

Our own Statement of Faith says:

We believe in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who has always existed. We believe the Bible to be His reliable Word, inspired by Him, without error and with the authority to guide and govern our lives.1

… we believe in the historical Jesus Christ, that He uniquely is God and that He was man; that He is all He claimed to be, and all God said He would be; that after His human death He is alive; that He is in heaven mediating with God on our behalf.2

… we believe that all people are sinners as a result of their separation from God brought about by Adam’s sin. We believe that Jesus Christ makes a reconciliation between God and people who recognise their sinfulness and put their faith in His sacrificial death on their behalf.3

… we believe in the Holy Spirit, sent by the Father to make people aware of their need caused by the penalty for sin; acting in and through people’s lives to change, renew and cleanse the lives of those who trust in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit works in the life of the Christian to affect lifestyle, prompting acts of service and kindness, producing a response to God in worship, and so building up the church.4

… we believe that Jesus’ teaching calls those who believe to be baptised, by total immersion in water.5

… we believe that it is right to meet together regularly to share bread and wine, remembering the sacrificial death of Jesus as He himself commanded.6
